Boosie Badazz Calls $600,000 Trump Pardon Deal a Scam

Louisiana rapper Boosie Badazz said he paid $600,000 to a lobbying firm run by Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman after being promised a presidential pardon from Donald Trump for his federal gun conviction. The agreement stipulated a $300,000 refund if a pardon was not secured by a set deadline, which passed without any clemency. Boosie recounted the episode on Rickey Smiley’s "On The Spot" podcast, describing the effort as a "Ponzi scheme" and denying accusations that he was "snitching" on the alleged scammers. He quoted the lobbyists: “What happened was, some government lobbyists…they came to me like, ‘We can get a pardon.’” Conservative figures have distanced themselves from the scheme, and Boosie said the experience taught him a painful lesson about trusting people who claim to have powerful political connections. He added, “I don’t know who you think I am, I am a powerful Black man!”
