Boosie Badazz warns rappers about legal risks of podcast interviews

Rapper Boosie Badazz has issued a warning to fellow hip-hop artists regarding the legal risks of podcast interviews. In a post on X, he cautioned that media appearances are increasingly being used as critical evidence in criminal trials, suggesting that such interviews can be more damaging to a defense than an artist's own lyrics.

This warning follows several high-profile legal cases where media content played a central role. In the murder-for-hire trial of Lil Durk, prosecutors utilized a 2023 interview from DJ Akademiks’ ‘Off The Record’ podcast during closing arguments. Additionally, in the trial of Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis for the murder of Tupac Shakur, prosecutors used interview clips from Vlad TV in which Davis discussed the orchestration of the crime, leading to a guilty verdict.

Boosie Badazz advised artists to avoid answering questions that could jeopardize their freedom, emphasizing the growing presence of hip-hop media in the courtroom.
