Rapper Boosie Badazz posted on X on Aug. 5, urging the WNBA to keep trans women out of the league. Citing the 2002 comedy *Juwanna Mann*, he wrote, “keep them Juwanna mans out the WNBA,” and told trans athletes to “go try out for the NBA and match up against Wemby.” The post referenced French basketball player Julie Tétart, who currently plays for Monaco in France’s Ligue 2 and has not been signed by a WNBA team. Tétart said she would consider a WNBA offer but noted her age and the presence of stronger players. Boosie's comments provoked backlash online and added to an ongoing debate sparked by WNBA guard Sophie Cunningham’s opposition to trans participation.
