Boot Barn lowers yearly guidance after Q2 sales miss

Boot Barn, the Irvine-based footwear and clothing retailer, has lowered its full-year fiscal 2027 sales guidance following a second-quarter performance that missed analysts' revenue expectations.

During the second quarter, net sales rose 15.1 percent to $581.8 million, up from $505.4 million in the prior-year period. While this growth was driven by new store openings and increased consolidated same-store sales, the figure fell short of the $576 million to $582.8 million range anticipated by analysts.

Despite the revenue miss, the company exceeded earnings expectations. Net income for the quarter reached $52.5 million, or $1.73 per diluted share, compared to $42.2 million, or $1.37 per diluted share, in the previous year. CEO John Hazen stated that the company is pleased with the results, noting that recent store openings have generated sales above original projections.
