Boots Riley’s ‘I Love Boosters’ premieres at BFI London Film Festival

Boots Riley’s sophomore feature, ‘I Love Boosters’, has premiered at the 70th annual BFI London Film Festival. The film is a surrealist social satire that explores themes of collective action, workers' rights, and the exploitative nature of the fashion industry.

The story follows a trio of shoplifters—Corvette (Keke Palmer), Mariah (Taylour Paige), and Sade (Naomi Ackie)—who steal luxury goods from high-end boutiques to resell them within their community. Their petty thefts escalate into a confrontation with a billionaire fashion mogul, Christie Smith (Demi Moore), after they discover a corporate conspiracy involving a teleporting device used to ship clothes back to manufacturing hubs in China.

Described as a vibrant and maximalist visual odyssey, the film blends elements of science fiction, supernatural horror, and absurdist comedy to critique capitalist structures.
