Boots to begin NHS flu vaccinations on September 1

Boots is set to begin its first wave of NHS flu vaccinations on September 1. The initial rollout focuses on high-risk groups, including pregnant women and young children. The NHS childhood flu vaccination will be available at more than 140 selected Boots locations.

A broader rollout for all eligible adult groups, including those aged 65 and over and adults aged 18 to 64 with certain long-term health conditions, is scheduled to begin on October 1. Additionally, a private winter flu jab service will be available in many stores starting September 22.

According to the UK Health Security Agency, last season’s flu vaccine reduced hospitalisation risks by up to 40 per cent for adults aged 65 and over. Boots reported a 20 per cent year-on-year increase in flu jab bookings.
