Boparan Holdings appoints Matt Hood as managing director

Boparan Holdings has appointed Matt Hood as the managing director for commercial and brand development for both Boparan Holdings and Boparan Private Office. Hood, who will officially assume the role in January 2027, joins the group from Co-op, where he most recently served as managing director.

Hood brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the UK grocery retail and food manufacturing sectors, including previous roles at Tesco. Reporting to owner Ranjit Boparan, his responsibilities will include leading the commercial and brand development agenda, overseeing customer and channel strategy, sales, product innovation, procurement, and supply chain logistics.

In his new capacity, Hood aims to leverage customer insight and manufacturing strengths to support the group’s NextGen strategy and strengthen its service to customers and the food supply chain.
