Bor Greiner challenges Maribor leadership selection and collects mayoral signatures

Bor Greiner, a non-partisan mayoral candidate in Maribor, is criticizing the selection process for the new director of Narodni dom Maribor. He claims that the Commission for Mandate and Appointments (KMVI) has proposed Mitja Špes, a candidate favored by political factions, despite the professional council recommending Maša Novak and Bogdan Benigar as the most suitable experts.

Greiner has called on Maribor city councilors to reject the political commission's proposal and instead demand a repetition of the procedure to ensure professional expertise takes precedence over political affiliation. He emphasized the cultural importance of Narodni dom Maribor to the city and its role in the Lent Festival.

Simultaneously, Greiner is actively collecting the required 794 verified signatures from voters to formalize his candidacy for the local elections on November 15. He noted the administrative complexities involved in the signature verification process at the Maribor Administrative Unit but remains committed to his campaign to improve the city.
