Border Battle basketball tournament launches in Tijuana

The Border Battle basketball tournament has officially launched in Tijuana, bringing together 38 teams from Mexico and the United States. Organized by the Tijuana Zonkeys, the competition includes male categories ranging from primary school to Elite levels, as well as the newly introduced Elite Women's category.

Beyond the athletic competition, the tournament serves a philanthropic purpose by collecting food donations for the foundation ‘Tijuana Sin Hambre’. The event aims to surpass the 4,758 kilograms of food collected in 2025. The opening ceremony featured officials including Tijuana Zonkeys President Rafael Carrillo Barrón, General Director Andrea Jáuregui, and tournament founder Eva Torres.
