Border Charter approved to guide frontier territory development
Representatives from various Brazilian border regions have approved the ‘Carta das Fronteiras’ (Border Charter), a document designed to guide the development and integration of frontier territories. The charter was developed during the ‘Construção do Futuro nas Fronteiras’ meeting held at the triple border between Barracão (PR), Dionísio Cerqueira (SC), and Bernardo de Irigoyen (Argentina).
The document outlines challenges, opportunities, and commitments aimed at strengthening territorial governance and integration among municipalities, states, and nations. Key discussion topics included cross-border trade, the movement of people, infrastructure, logistics, tourism, legislation, and the business environment. The initiative, promoted by Sebrae Nacional and Sebrae/PR, seeks to foster articulation between public authorities, the business sector, and civil society to address common regional needs.
