Border Roads Organisation personnel avert landslide in Kargil

Personnel from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) averted a major disaster in Kargil, Ladakh, during road construction work. While the 762 Border Roads Task Force of Project Vijayak was performing formation cutting on a mountain face, a landslide occurred.

Staff member Furman Ali prevented casualties by shouting a warning, allowing workers to rush to safety. Simultaneously, Charanjit Sarkar successfully moved tracked drilling equipment away from the site just before a portion of the rock face collapsed onto the work area.

Lieutenant General Harpal Singh, Director General of Border Roads, commended the individuals for their presence of mind and timely actions in the challenging terrain.
