Border X tourism platform expands in Ciudad Juárez

Businessman Rogelio Ramos urged greater public backing for the Border X platform, emphasizing that it functions as a community service rather than a profit‑driven venture. He argued that municipal and state authorities have not provided sufficient resources to sustain the initiative, which promotes local hotels, restaurants, attractions and medical‑tourism traffic.

The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco‑Servytur) of Ciudad Juárez signed a collaboration agreement to further develop Border X. The digital platform now lists more than 4,500 establishments across five categories, offers AI‑generated personalized itineraries, and will place QR codes in about 7,000 hotel rooms to facilitate app downloads. Since January, roughly 40,000 tourist maps have been distributed in 32 chain hotels. Border X will also be rolled out to nearby municipalities such as Delicias, Casas Grandes and Cuauhtémoc, with a new website and promotional campaign slated for 15 August. The goal is to shift Ciudad Juárez from a transit point to a longer‑stay destination, boosting the local economy.
