Borderland Music Festival 2026 draws 16,000 visitors in Sarawak
The Borderland Music Festival 2026 concluded at the Sarawak Cultural Village in Kuching, drawing approximately 16,000 visitors over its two-day run on September 11 and 12. The event featured a diverse lineup of local, regional, and international electronic dance music (EDM) artists, including headliners KSHMR, Arcando, Blasterjaxx, and Ben Nicky.
During his headline set, American DJ KSHMR incorporated local elements by using a Malay-language animated storyline and performing the Sarawak song ‘Bekikis Bulu Betis’.
Datuk Snowdan Lawan, the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, noted the festival's potential to become a major music tourism brand for Sarawak, comparing its growth trajectory to Belgium’s Tomorrowland.
Organizers have announced the next installment, titled ‘TOK by Borderland’, which is scheduled to take place on March 20, 2027.
