Borderlands 4 performance improves following suspected Denuvo removal
Following the release of Update 1.11, Borderlands 4 has seen reported improvements in performance and stability. While official patch notes focus on general optimizations, community investigations and SteamDB change logs suggest the update may have quietly removed the Denuvo anti-tamper technology, noting a reduction in the size of the game's executable file.
Early reports from content creators indicate significant frame rate gains. At 1440p resolution with medium settings, some users observed an increase from approximately 50 FPS to between 70 and 80 FPS. However, technical analysts note that because the patch included various stability and performance optimizations alongside the suspected removal of Denuvo, it remains difficult to isolate exactly how much of the improvement is attributable to the removal of the copy protection versus other engine-level tweaks.
