Bordány and Zenta municipal councils announce upcoming sessions

Local government bodies in Bordány and Zenta have announced upcoming sessions to address regional administrative and commemorative matters.

In Bordány, the representative body will meet on September 24, 2026, at the Village House and Library. The session, which includes a public hearing, will cover reports on mayoral decisions, committee actions, and environmental protection status. Mayor Gábor Tanács will present reports, and officials will provide updates on the activities of the Mórahalom District Office.

In Zenta, the municipal council is scheduled to hold its twentieth session on September 3. A primary agenda item is the selection of recipients for the 2026 Pro Urbe awards. The municipality has designated three honorees: painter György Verebes will receive the Pro Urbe Lifetime Achievement Award with a monetary prize, while the posthumous Pro Urbe Lifetime Achievement Award will be granted to the late lawyer Dušan Nikolić and to Imre Szűgyi, a former council member who passed away in 2021.
