Boreham Wood rejects £1.5m bid for Abdul Abdulmalik
Boreham Wood chairman Danny Hunter has addressed the ongoing transfer situation involving forward Abdul Abdulmalik. The club recently rejected a reported £1.5m bid from Swedish side Djurgården, following a previous offer of approximately £1m earlier in the summer transfer window.
Abdulmalik, who joined Boreham Wood in 2024 after being released by Millwall, has reportedly requested to leave the club following the rejection of these offers. The 23-year-old had a standout 2025-26 season, recording 17 goals and 10 assists while helping the team reach the National League play-off final.
In his programme notes, Hunter described the situation as “business as usual” and stated that the club must act “smartly, unemotionally and for some very good reasons.” He acknowledged the frustration of the player, his family, and his advisors but maintained that the club's leadership is acting with a clear conscience to protect the interests of the football club.
