Borg El Arab Stadium serves as Egypt’s major 86,000-seat sports complex
Borg El Arab Stadium, located approximately 25 km from Alexandria, stands as one of Egypt’s largest sports complexes. Since becoming operational in 2007, the stadium has provided a capacity of 86,000 spectators.
Developed by the Egyptian Armed Forces with construction handled by Arab Contractors, the project was completed in under 2.5 years at a cost of approximately $21.66 million. The complex spans over 60 hectares and includes two training pitches with 2,000-seat stands each, a hotel, restaurants, conference rooms, swimming pools, and a helipad.
To manage large crowds, the facility features 17 entrance gates and an extensive internal road network. The main stadium combines a football pitch with an athletics track and a large roofing system.
