Borgo dei Posseri revitalized as enotourism destination in Trentino

The historic village of Borgo dei Posseri, located in the municipality of Ala, has transformed from an abandoned settlement into a prominent enotourism destination in the Trentino region of Italy.

Formerly known as Pozzo Basso, the village served as a border between the Kingdom of Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire before being abandoned in the 1970s. The area saw a revival in 2008 when Massimo De Alessandro and Maria Marangoni acquired the property to establish a winery and tourist destination. Following De Alessandro's death in 2022, the estate is currently managed by Maria Marangoni and her daughters.

The estate produces various wines, including the Trentodoc sparkling wine and several red and white labels such as Pinot Nero Paradis and Müller Thurgau. The site offers autonomous tasting tours to the public during the warmer months from March through November.
