Italian Localities Quart and Borgo dei Posseri Highlight Demographics and Wine Tourism Revival

Quart is a municipality in the Valle d'Aosta region of north‑west Italy. It covers 62.05 km² at an altitude of 535 m, with a resident population of 4,066 as of 2018 – a rise of 101 % since 1971. The town includes several hamlets such as Avisod, Chantignan and others.

Borgo dei Posseri, an abandoned village in the Trentino commune of Ala, has been revitalised as a wine‑tourism destination. After being purchased in 2008 by Massimo De Alessandri and Maria Marangoni, the site now produces Trentodoc sparkling wines and a range of red and white labels. The family, now led by Maria and her daughters, offers self‑guided vineyard tours and local food pairings, positioning the village as a notable enotourism spot in the province of Trento.
