Porta Filiamabili Sestiere Wins 30th Sulmona Giostra Cavalleresca

The 30th edition of the Giostra Cavalleresca took place in Sulmona, Abruzzo, with over 400 participants and thousands of spectators. The historic parade featured period costumes, a queen role played by Elisa Speranza, and a performance by the local Celtic music group Rota Temporalis. The final was held in Piazza Maggiore, where Stefano Venturelli rode for the Sestiere di Porta Filiamabili and defeated Luca Innocenzi of Borgo San Panfilo, scoring 8 points in 30.13 seconds against 5 points in 30.33 seconds. The Palio, designed by architect Alessandro Contucci and dedicated to the late Salvatore La Civita, was lifted by Sara Pallotta in a ceremony attended by mayor Luca Tirabassi. Venturelli said, “Non ci sono troppe parole da dire… è dedicato a Salvatore,” expressing emotion over the victory.
