The oncology service at Borgo Trento, specializing in gastrointestinal pathologies, emphasizes a patient-centered approach through continuity of care. Led by Dr. Michele Pavarana and oncologist Camilla Zecchetto, the unit manages various cancers, including those of the esophagus, stomach, liver, and pancreas, guiding patients from diagnosis through follow-up.

A key feature of the service is the multidisciplinary model, which integrates surgeons, radiologists, psychologists, and nutritionists. Between January and August, the unit conducted 290 initial visits, with an annual projection of 400 to 450 new diagnoses. The department reports significant patient influx from outside the local region.
