Borgosesia: local news updates on crime, weather, and infrastructure

Borgosesia is experiencing several developments across public safety, infrastructure, and environmental management. Carabinieri investigators have made progress in a theft investigation involving the municipal building. A local resident was identified as a suspect following video surveillance analysis, leading to the recovery of stolen items, including several computers. The investigation also linked the individual to a separate theft at a local clothing store, where approximately 5,000 euros worth of merchandise was recovered.

In terms of infrastructure, the city council has presented a new traffic plan designed to improve road safety and circulation. The project, costing over 663,000 euros, includes the construction of a large oval roundabout in viale Varallo to manage traffic near schools and sports facilities, as well as new roundabouts in outlying districts.

Environmental concerns were also noted following severe weather in the Valsesia region. Heavy rainfall caused trees to fall on roads and flooded a home in the Vanzone and Brina areas. While the Sesia river rose by nearly 2.5 meters, it remained below the pre-alarm threshold. No injuries were reported during the emergency interventions by firefighters and local police.
