A Russian drone struck a passenger train near the Ukrainian-Polish border at the Yagodyn station, approximately two kilometers from Poland. The attack targeted the locomotive of a train traveling from Kyiv to Warsaw, which was carrying 206 passengers. No injuries or fatalities were reported, as an evacuation order was issued roughly 15 minutes before the impact.

Ukrainian railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia suggested that the drone may have been intended for a diplomatic train that had departed the station earlier than scheduled. That diplomatic convoy included former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, and security advisers from several EU member states. Former CIA Director David Petraeus was also reportedly in a different train stationed at the same location during the strike.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk described the incident as a Russian escalation moving closer to the Polish border. The attack follows other Russian strikes in the region, including an incident involving a Ukrainian gas station and a truck near the border. Polish authorities increased security measures following the event.
