Boris Pistorius NATO eastern flank European security Freedom Shield exercise geopolitical uncertainty

A new documentary titled ‘World in Permanent Crisis: What Gives Us Security?’ by Christian Sievers explores how individuals, including entrepreneurs and families, cope with global instability and a sense of lost control.

The reportage follows German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to the NATO eastern flank in Lithuania. During the visit, Pistorius observed the ‘Freedom Shield’ military exercise, which involves troops permanently stationed in the region.

The documentary highlights how the war in Ukraine has fundamentally altered the perception of European security, compounded by concerns regarding the reliability of the United States as a partner.
