Borlänge politician seeks minority alliance with SD support

In Borlänge, Center Party politician Karin Örjes is reportedly engaging in discussions to form a minority alliance government. Despite her party's decline in the recent election, leaving them with only four of 61 seats in the municipal council, Örjes is pursuing a configuration that could involve support from the Moderates and the Sweden Democrats (SD).

If successful, a coalition of the four center-right parties could secure 21 mandates, which is just over one-third of the council. This arrangement would require the 11 members of the Sweden Democrats to provide support in each vote. While Örjes describes the potential cooperation as a ‘minority alliance government,’ critics note that the strategy relies heavily on votes from the Sweden Democrats.
