Bormes-les-Mimosas voted France's favorite village

Bormes-les-Mimosas, a medieval village in the Var department, has been voted ‘Village Préféré des Français 2026’. The village, which has a population of approximately 400, won the annual televised competition held since 2012, surpassing thirteen other competitors to succeed Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye.

The historic center, known as Bormes-Village, is characterized by its 12th-century origins, narrow alleys, and ochre-colored houses. Notable landmarks include the Rue Rompi Cuou, a steep street with 83 stone steps, and the Place Lou Poulid Cantoun, which offers views of the Levant and Port-Cros islands.
