Borneo Animation & Games Festival 2026 launches in Kuching, Malaysia

The Borneo Animation and Games Festival (BAGFEST) 2026 will be held in Kuching, Sarawak from 19‑23 August 2026. Co‑organised by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), the five‑day event will feature more than 30 international and local speakers, over 50 exhibitors, and a range of industry buyers, investors, publishers and creative professionals.

MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil said BAGFEST is “where creativity meets opportunity”, aiming to accelerate the development of original Malaysian intellectual property, expand international collaborations and create new business opportunities. SDEC CEO Dato Sudarnoto Osman added that the festival is designed to give Sarawak creators stronger pathways to regional and global markets, hoping future successful studios, games and animations can trace their origins back to BAGFEST.
