Bornholm heavy vehicle inspections result in 25 reports

Police from the Midt- og Vestsjællands Politi, specifically the Tungvognscenter Øst unit, conducted a large-scale heavy vehicle inspection across Bornholm to ensure road safety. During the operation, officers inspected 133 heavy vehicles, including trucks, vans, buses, and tractors, as well as five animal transport vehicles.

The inspection resulted in 25 reports. Significant safety violations were identified, including severe brake failures. One tractor trailer was found to have a braking efficiency of only 6 percent, far below the legal requirement of 30 percent, leading to fines and a conditional license revocation for the driver. Additionally, a 40-year-old semi-trailer used for transporting concrete elements was in such poor technical condition that its license plates were confiscated on the spot.

Other violations included overloaded vans and vehicles lacking mandatory tachographs. While the focus was on heavy transport, police also inspected six passenger cars for unauthorized modifications. Five of these vehicles failed noise level tests and were ordered for inspection, with drivers receiving fines of 2,500 kroner.
