Bornholm local band announces retirement after 40 years

A local cover band on the island of Bornholm has decided to disband after nearly 40 years of performing. The group, which began as a dance orchestra in 1987, has been a staple at local events such as harbor parties and community dances.

Band member Bjarne Kure noted that the decision was driven by the evolving nature of live music, stating that the band found it difficult to keep up with modern performance standards involving extensive backing tracks. While the dissolution is described as bittersweet, Kure mentioned that the members intend to continue meeting socially without the professional musical requirements.
