Borno electric vehicle assembly plant inspected by Federal Government

The Nigerian Federal Government has inspected an ongoing electric vehicle assembly project in Maiduguri, Borno State. Managed by the North-East Development Commission, the initiative aims to assemble 10,000 electric vehicles, including buses, taxis, and tricycles, for distribution across the six North-East states.

Minister of Regional Development Abubakar Momoh stated that the project includes the development of necessary charging infrastructure to serve both urban and rural communities. The initiative is expected to improve regional mobility and stimulate economic growth through job creation. According to officials, the assembly process is already providing employment opportunities for local workers.
