Borno Governor pledges reconstruction of Mallam-Fatori

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has pledged to accelerate the reconstruction of critical public infrastructure in Mallam-Fatori, a border community heavily impacted by years of insurgency. During a working visit to the Abadam Local Government Area headquarters, the governor inspected damaged schools, government buildings, and housing facilities.

To support residents returning to the area, Zulum directed the immediate construction of a hospital, primary and secondary schools, and an Islamiyya school. He emphasized that providing basic amenities is essential for returnees to rebuild their livelihoods and stability.

Additionally, the governor ordered the immediate suspension of all village and ward heads in Mallam-Fatori due to their absence during his visit. Describing their absence as unacceptable during the community's rebuilding phase, Zulum directed the Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs to work with the Shehu of Borno to appoint new leaders characterized by integrity and competence.
