Borno Governor Zulum Announces Voluntary Closure of Konduga IDP Camp

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum announced that the Konduga internally displaced persons (IDP) camp will be closed, following the earlier shutdown of the Bama camp and the planned closure of the Gwoza camp. He stressed that the relocation will be entirely voluntary and that no one will be forced to move against their wishes.

During a visit to Konduga, Zulum inspected housing units under construction in Amarwa and Maiwa (Mafa LGA). The new settlements include primary health centres, water facilities and other basic amenities. He said the displaced families are expected to be resettled within the next four months. Accompanying officials included Engr. Bukar Talba (House of Representatives), Hon. Bukar Modu (State Assembly), and Commissioner Sugun Mai Mele.
