Borno Governor Zulum leads North East regional forum and receives leadership award

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum is leading regional efforts to stabilize and rebuild North East Nigeria. In Maiduguri, Zulum is hosting the 13th regular meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum. The summit includes governors from Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe, focusing on security, good governance, and socioeconomic development across the sub-region.

In a separate development, the Kirawa community in Gwoza Local Government Area presented Zulum with a Good Leadership Award. The recognition follows the administration’s efforts to resettle residents and rebuild the border town, which had been largely deserted since 2013 due to insurgency. The state government has also announced plans to rehabilitate and fence schools in Kirawa and other communities in Gwoza to enhance education and security.
