Borno religious leaders hold interfaith summit to promote peace

Religious leaders from Christian and Muslim communities in Borno State gathered for an interfaith summit in Maiduguri to promote peace, mutual respect, and religious tolerance. Organized by the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, the event brought together clerics, faith-based organizations, and community leaders to strengthen social harmony.

Special Apostle Joshua Akeredolu, the State Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for Borno, emphasized that humanity should precede religious differences. He stated that the goal was to encourage followers to see one another as a single family and as creations of God.

Speakers at the summit included Islamic scholars Sheikh Isa Fezzan and Sheikh Ja’afar Sa’ad Ngamdu, alongside Christian leaders Rev. Dr. Titus Pona and Rev. Manasseh Bala Gizo. The discussions focused on peacebuilding, shared ethical values, and the necessity of religious harmony for achieving sustainable social and economic development in the region.
