Borno State: Minister demands justice after 15 farmers killed

Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has called on security agencies to intensify operations following an attack in Borno State that left 15 farmers dead. The victims were reportedly killed by suspected terrorists in the Marte Local Government Area between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning while working on their farms or gathering firewood.

Kyari demanded justice for the deceased and urged authorities to locate three individuals who remain missing following the ambush. He described the incident as an attack on both human lives and Nigeria’s national food security efforts.

The minister extended condolences to the victims' families and the Borno State government, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ to ensure farmers can cultivate land safely.
