Borno State secures nine investment commitments for IDP recovery

Borno State has secured nine investment commitments following a private sector roundtable held in Lagos aimed at supporting durable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees. The event involved over 20 private sector actors from industries including banking, telecommunications, and infrastructure, alongside representatives from United Nations agencies such as the UNHCR, IOM, and UNDP.

Key outcomes include the Dangote Group allocating N366 million in shares for IDPs and returnees, while the Dangote Foundation pledged scholarships for 4,000 girls over the next six years. Additionally, Airtel secured right-of-way approval to expand telecommunications connectivity across the state. To facilitate further growth, two investors received approvals for land allocations to support investment and sustainable livelihoods.
