Bornova Book Days launches in Izmir with 790,000 books

The 7th Homeros'un Bornova'sında Kitap Günleri (Bornova Book Days) is launching in Izmir, Turkey. Organized by the Bornova Municipality, the 10-day cultural festival will take place at Büyükpark.

The event features 65 publishing houses offering approximately 790,000 books. A total of 440 authors are scheduled to meet with readers through signing sessions, talks, workshops, and panels. The festival is being held in memory of the renowned poet Attila İlhan.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the municipality aims to make art accessible to all parts of the city rather than treating it as a luxury. The festival program includes not only book sales but also musical performances, poetry readings, and various stage events, with daily visiting hours from 10:00 to 20:00.
