Bornova hosts event for motorcycle couriers at Turkey's first dedicated park

In Bornova, Turkey, hundreds of motorcycle couriers gathered for a “Pilav Day” event held at the Tümgeneral Mehmet Suphi Kula Park. The gathering took place within the Moto Courier Park, a facility opened by the Bornova Municipality as a dedicated resting and socialization area for delivery workers.

The event was organized through a collaboration between the Bornova City Council Moto Courier Working Group and the Bayraklı and Bornova Moto Courier Association. During the event, municipal officials provided food to the participants, including chicken and rice.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki met with the workers to discuss professional challenges, including traffic safety concerns, speed pressures, and demands for job security. Eşki emphasized the importance of the couriers to urban life and noted that the creation of the Moto Courier Park was a pioneering step to provide workers with humane conditions for breaks.
