Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki Launches Countdown to 2nd Traditional Jam Festival

The Bornova Municipality has begun a countdown to the district’s second Traditional Jam Festival, scheduled for 6 September 2026 at Yakaköy Village Square. A series of free tasting events started at Çamdibi Atatürk Park and will continue at several neighbourhood locations throughout August, with dates on 7 August, 12 August, 14 August, 19 August and 25 August.

Mayor Ömer Eşki highlighted that the festival will showcase organic, additive‑free jams produced by local farmers using the methods of their mothers and grandmothers. The programme aims to spread the festival spirit across Bornova and invite residents to sample the handcrafted preserves before the main gathering.

The event is promoted as a celebration of Bornova’s agricultural heritage and culinary culture, emphasizing health‑focused, traditional food production.
