Bornova Municipality conducts inspections to clear sidewalk encroachments
Bornova Municipality has launched a series of field operations and inspections to improve urban order and public health. Municipal police teams conducted overnight inspections along major thoroughfares, including Kazım Karabekir and Mustafa Kemal streets, to address sidewalk encroachments. Authorities removed various barriers such as bollards, flags, and advertising materials that obstructed pedestrian access.
In addition to managing sidewalk usage, teams inspected local bakeries for hygiene, licensing, and weight compliance. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki participated in these operations, emphasizing a management style focused on direct field presence. The municipality aims to resolve local issues, such as infrastructure needs and urban maintenance, through continuous on-site monitoring and collaboration with neighborhood representatives rather than through traditional office-based administration.
