Bornova Municipality holds local muhtar coordination meeting to address neighborhood needs
The Bornova Municipality convened its regular regional muhtar meeting at the Uğur Mumcu Cultural and Art Center, bringing together the muhtars of Egemenlik, Işıklar, Yeşilova, Çınar, Yıldırım Beyazıt, Barbaros, Gaziosmanpaşa, Rafetpaşa and Karacaoğlan neighborhoods. Municipal officials from cleaning, infrastructure, parks, and the local police attended.
Attendees reviewed completed projects and discussed new requests concerning road and sidewalk repairs, park and green‑area improvements, sanitation services and other daily‑life issues. The municipality recorded the new demands and pledged to plan solutions with the relevant departments. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that muhtars are “the voice of our neighborhoods” and reiterated the city’s commitment to collaborative, participatory governance.
The meeting is part of a monthly series held in five zones of Bornova, aimed at strengthening coordination between the municipality and local leaders and accelerating the delivery of services to residents.
