Bornova Municipality hosts historical discovery race for university students

Bornova Municipality organized a nine-stop historical discovery competition titled “In Pursuit of Clues in Bornova” to help new university students integrate into the city and learn about the district’s history.

Twelve students, divided into four teams, competed in a race starting from Abide-i Hürriyet Square. To solve clues at each location, teams were given seven minutes per stop. For the first five minutes, participants were prohibited from using mobile phones or artificial intelligence, requiring them to interact with local shopkeepers and residents to find answers. Digital assistance was only permitted during the final two minutes of each stop.

The route included several historical landmarks, such as the 9 Eylül Martyrdom, the Literature Museum Library, Arkas Art Bornova, and the Dramalılar Mansion. The event was initiated by Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki.
