Bornova reopens renovated Doğanlar Football Field

The Doğanlar Football Field in Bornova, İzmir, has been reopened following renovations by the Bornova Municipality. The reopening was marked by a U-12 Football Festival held in commemoration of the anniversary of the liberation of İzmir on September 9.

The festival featured ten amateur sports clubs from various regions of Bornova, including Bornova Belediyespor, Doğanlar SK, and Bornova FK. The event focused on friendship and sportsmanship rather than competition, with all participating children receiving certificates of participation.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of investing in sports facilities to steer youth away from negative influences such as crime and drug use. He noted that Bornova is one of the cities in Turkey with the highest number of football clubs and pledged to continue increasing sports infrastructure in the region.
