Borobudur 100 running event to raise funds for cerebral palsy support

The Borobudur 100 running event, scheduled for December 19-20, 2026, in the Borobudur area of Magelang Regency, aims to combine athletic competition with social activism. The event organizers are targeting 1,000 participants to compete in four categories: 100km, 50km, 25km, and 5km.

Beyond the physical challenge, the event serves as a fundraising initiative for children with cerebral palsy. Participants are required to submit donations by December 10, 2026. The funds are intended to support medical care, nutritional needs, and accessible transportation for children requiring specialized services.

Sumarno, the Regional Secretary of Central Java Province, expressed appreciation for the event's social mission during its launch at Artos Mall Magelang. He noted that while the government provides services, community involvement is essential to address social needs such as medical treatment and disability-friendly transport for those with cerebral palsy.
