Borobudur Marathon 2026 preparations reach 99 percent

Preparations for the Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2026 are nearly complete, reaching 99 percent readiness. Scheduled for November 15, 2026, the event carries the theme ‘Decade of Legacy’ and is expected to host 12,500 participants.

The participant breakdown includes 3,300 runners in the 10K category, 4,200 in the Half Marathon, and 5,000 in the Full Marathon. Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi expressed full support for the event, describing it as a regional icon, while urging organizers to implement robust mitigation strategies for extreme weather conditions.

Regional Secretary Sumarno emphasized that participant safety is the highest priority. He advised organizers to closely monitor air quality and weather, ensure adequate medical personnel and referral facilities are available, and increase cheering stations at popular route points such as Tanjakan Cinta.
