Borrona Downs station sells for $23.75 million in NSW

Borrona Downs, an 86,563-hectare sheep and cattle property in far north west New South Wales, has sold for $23.75 million following an auction. Located 135km east of Tibooburra near the Queensland border, the station had been held by the Taylor family for over 100 years.

The property was initially passed at $23.5 million, which was $500,000 below the $24 million reserve price. Following negotiations, an undisclosed buyer from southern Queensland secured the property at the negotiated price, averaging approximately $111 per acre.

Borrona Downs features a variety of landscapes, including open plains, perennial lakes, and creek systems. The station is equipped with nine bores, two flowing bores, 16 seasonal dams, and a network of storage tanks and troughs. It has an estimated carrying capacity of 20,000 dry sheep equivalents and supports the annual harvesting of approximately 5,000 rangeland goats.
