Borsa İstanbul index falls below 14,000 level amid market volatility

Borsa İstanbul's BIST 100 index has faced a continuous downward trend, dropping below the psychological 14,000 level. The index closed recently at 13,932 points, marking a weekly loss of approximately 4.84% due to geopolitical risks and regulatory uncertainties.

In broader economic news, Bendevi Palandöken, President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), warned that the diesel price increase on September 1st could trigger inflation. He noted that rising fuel costs impact various sectors, including transportation, production, and food, and called for the implementation of a mobile equalization system to mitigate the burden on tradesmen and citizens.
