Borsa İstanbul sees ownership shifts and high trading volumes
Borsa İstanbul (BIST) is seeing significant activity across various sectors, highlighted by a major ownership shift at Akçansa. Following Sabancı Holding's transfer of its 39.72% stake to Heidelberg Materials AG, the latter's total share has risen to 79.44%, making it the dominant shareholder. This change in management control has triggered a mandatory tender offer requirement, with investors now awaiting a decision from the Capital Markets Board (SPK) regarding the offer price and exemption requests.
In terms of market technicals, several BIST stocks are showing strong signals. Companies such as Esenboğa Elektrik (ESEN) and Katılımevim (KTLEV) have achieved high technical scores, though signal alignment varies. İş Bankası (ISCTR) is notable for having five major technical indicators—CCI, RSI, momentum, stochastic, and MACD—all issuing ‘buy’ signals.
Additionally, recent trading data shows a massive surge in transaction volumes for specific stocks. Carrefoursa (CRFSA) saw its transaction count increase approximately 21-fold, while Altınyunus Çeşme (AYCES) experienced a nearly 20-fold increase in activity. Other stocks like Dyo Boya (DYOBY) and Körfez GMYO (KRGYO) also reported transaction volume increases exceeding 1,000%.
