Borussia Dortmund bans players from using showers in Baku

Borussia Dortmund management prohibited its players from using the showers at the Baku Olympic Stadium following a Champions League match against Sabah FK. The decision was made due to concerns regarding Legionnaires' disease, a serious bacterial infection caused by contaminated water systems.

Following their 2-1 victory in Azerbaijan, the team returned immediately to their hotel while still in their training gear to avoid contact with the stadium's plumbing. Coach Niko Kovac confirmed the instruction to shower only at the hotel, while Sporting Director Nils Olav Buch noted the preference for the hotel facilities.

Despite these precautions, representatives from Sabah FK stated that the stadium's plumbing is safe and noted that they had used the facilities without issue during previous matches.
