Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac addresses Waldemar Anton and future coaching prospects

Borussia Dortmund manager Niko Kovac has addressed the anticipated hostile reception for defender Waldemar Anton during his upcoming return to VfB Stuttgart. Kovac defended Anton, noting that the player is experienced enough to remain unfazed by potential whistling from fans. Kovac also highlighted Anton’s previous contributions to Stuttgart, specifically his role in stabilizing the club during their 2022/23 season and helping them secure Champions League qualification.

In separate news regarding Dortmund’s coaching future, SV Elversberg manager Vincent Wagner has expressed his long-standing support for the club. Wagner, who has been a Dortmund fan since the 1995/96 season, identified the role as a dream job for the future. While Wagner remains committed to Elversberg through 2028, his connection to Dortmund’s sporting director, Ole Boek, has positioned him as a potential successor to Kovac in the long term.
